Meet Polly Nicholson

We are delighted to welcome specialist flower grower and tulip expert Polly Nicholson to our Reading Room on Friday 12th April. Polly holds the largest private collection of historic tulip varieties in the United Kingdom and is founder of Bayntun Flowers, an organic flower farm in Wiltshire.

From 3:00pm until 5:00pm, Polly will be signing copies of her brand new book ‘The Tulip Garden: Growing and Collecting Species, Rare and Annual Varieties’. Pop along to meet Polly and discuss ‘all things tulips’ – from planting and growing advice, to tips on how to display and condition homegrown blooms. Celebrating the arrival of Polly’s new book at the peak of the tulip season, join us to be inspired by a display of the finest British cut tulips, with selections available for those who would like to  take home their own tulip treasure.

The Tulip Garden: Growing and Collecting Species, Rare and Annual Varieties

‘The Tulip Garden: Growing and Collecting Species, Rare and Annual Varieties’ is Polly’s ode to tulips. From her own six acre garden, she introduces us to a unique collection of rare and covetable tulips, some dating back to the 16th century, and demonstrates how these treasured bulbs and more modern varieties of this enchanting flower can be grown today. Accompanied by stunning photography, this comprehensive guide to one of the world’s most popular flowers forms an inspirational resource for both gardeners and flower lovers alike.
