Valuation day with antiques expert, Caroline Hawley

We are delighted to welcome Caroline Hawley, esteemed antiques expert on Sunday 13th October for a special day of valuations.

Caroline, well-known for her appearances on BBC’s Bargain Hunt and Flog It!, brings a wealth of knowledge with over 30 years of experience in the antiques world. With a keen eye for detail and an intuitive understanding of the market, she is able to offer valuable insights into the history and worth of treasured items.

Caroline will be available from 11:00am to 3:00pm to provide professional valuations on items of jewellery, small silverware, and ceramic ornaments. Whether you have a family heirloom you’ve always been curious about, or a special item acquired on your travels, this is a unique opportunity to discover its true value.

While we are excited to see all your precious items, we kindly ask that larger antiques or bulky pieces be presented through photographs rather than brought in person. Please ensure your photographs are clear and capture as much detail as possible for an accurate assessment.

What to expect...

  • Bring your jewellery, small silver pieces, or ceramic items for a one-on-one consultation with Caroline.
  • If you have larger items (furniture, large sculptures, etc.), bring along detailed photos for appraisal.
  • No appointment necessary, just turn up on the day!

Each consultation is free of charge, and no item is too small! Caroline will be happy to offer her expertise on any and all items brought for valuation.

Meet Caroline Hawley

Caroline Hawley is a highly respected antiques expert and regular presenter on BBC's Bargain Hunt. Her passion for antiques began at an early age, leading her to open her first shop at just 20. In 2000, Caroline and her husband launched Hawleys Auctioneers, based in Beverley, East Yorkshire, specialising in antique and fine art sales. With over 30 years of experience, Caroline has developed a particular expertise in jewellery and silver, sourcing treasures for our own antique and vintage jewellery collection here at Burford Garden Co. and her enthusiasm for the world of antiques remains as strong as ever.
