Izzy Collins graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2014 and has been painting and exhibiting full time ever since. She works with the connections and separations between people and their landscapes. Coming from a local farming family, her work looks to take on the slowness, silence and space of living, working and travelling within a rural landscape, where a walk can be as expansive visually and externally as through internal thought and emotion. Her paintings are as much about the landscape she knows and loves as they are about the mood and emotions of the people within them or the viewer beyond the frame. Her works envelope the viewer with a slower and more contemplative state, with the work becoming a vessel for thought and introspection, and a contrast to an often faster, nonstop way of living.
