This beautiful life size head of a hare in a combination of richly toned fabrics, is the creation of a fauxidermist or textile taxidermy artist. Inspired by the heavily woven and luxurious fabrics of the Mediaeval Court, this splendid 'trophy head' is an eclectic textile sculpture created by hand out of fabrics such as velvet, chenille, silk, wool and linen. In medieaval times these sumptuous fabrics would have been dyed using roots, lichen and bark, giving deep rich autumnal colours.
Designed to be hung on a wall, you can be as imaginative as you like with this exquisite hare. In the festive season it is the perfect place to drape twinkling lights as the centrepiece of your Christmas decorations.
Because each hare is unique, the general colour of the hare will remain the same, but fabric detail may vary from the image.
