notes

The flattened effect of the multiple, tiny flowerheads of Achillea millefolium Moonshine make them wonderful cut flowers, whether fresh or dried, but leave some of the lovely flowers to mature because they are nectar rich and the seed heads attract songbirds later in the year. The attractively cut foliage is fragrant if rubbed. A recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.

Insights

The name is derived from Achilles, hero of the Trojan War, whose soldiers reputedly treated their wounds with Yarrow, known for its healing properties, which explains its other common names: Allheal and Bloodwort.
