The Egyptian Oil Jar is a sizeable pot with real presence. Entirely handmade and finished from the finest clay, with four lugs through which you could tie rope or fabric. It will make an impressive statement of solid antiquity wherever you place it.
It is suitable for use as a planter as there is a drain hole just above the base. Ideal as a stand-alone feature on the terrace, conservatory or in the garden, by doorways, group in a courtyard, or use several to line a path or walkway.
Equally at home in the garden or indoors, each jar is double fired for durability and frost resistance. The outside has a rough, natural looking finish, like antique pumice stone or seaside rocks. We call this range our salty pots or barnacle pots.
Hand made by a small, family company, each piece is unique and has its own character and colour. The clay is wood fired for up to two weeks, hence the unusual rough texture and varied colouring, and is totally frost resistant.
