A stunning, giant variety of allium producing 10cm umbels of delightful, lilac-rose coloured, starry flowers. The individual globe-like flowers are larger than those of other alliums, held high on super-long stems that shoot out from a basal tuft of strappy leaves. Allium Eros is a handsome, upright, bulbous perennial, fantastic for cutting gardens or cottage garden borders.
Thriving in a warm, sunny, well-drained position, A. Eros looks wonderful planted amongst herbaceous plants, particularly shorter perennials. Like other alliums, this giant ornamental onion is a good nectar source for bees and other insects.
