A new variety of the popular British native apple Cox's Orange Pippin, introduced in 2011, Christmas Pippin is a late season eating apple that has the classic 'Cox' flavour and more – it is crisp (although immediately melts in the mouth), honey-sweet, with a hint of sharpness. The Christmas Pippin will keep for two or three of months after harvesting, hence the name. In fact the taste of the stored fruit improves after a few weeks.

Malus Christmas Pippin is a true 'pippin' variety raised from seed with unknown parentage. It was found growing by the side of a road. It likes an open, sunny site and soil that doesn't get too dry in summer. For an increased yield, plant with other apples.

It is a spur bearer variety. This is a cordon, on M9 dwarking rootstock. Other rootstocks and sizes available in store.

A recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.
