Osmanthus delavayi boasts decorative leaves with the finely serrated edges; the overall effect of the bushy foliage is to provide a deep green, glossy background for the early spring flowers, which are extremely pretty, highly scented and attractive to early pollinators.

O. delavayi is an enchanting evergreen native of China, but is perfectly at home in a cottage garden or at the back of a border, especially in partial shade. Its slow-growing habit ensures it rarely outgrows its welcome and demands little attention.

A recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.
