Berberis thunbergii Rose Glow is is a compact, spiny deciduous shrub, with young leaves of purple, irregularly marbled with pink and white, on arching stems; later the foliage turns purple all over. The flowers are sparse, small and yellow, followed by red berries. With a bushy habit, this is a great plant to provide autumn interest in a jaded border, or to form an unusual hedge, as it is such an interesting colour.
B. thunbergii Rose Glow has won the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
