Producing large, dense and flattened clusters of tiny, light, lemon yellow flowers above grey-green, fern-like foliage clinging to the erect stems, Achillea millefolium Moonshine is a pretty, drought-tolerant addition to a herbaceous border. The flower heads last for several weeks in late summer.
Robust and disease resistant, it is a relatively compact, clump-forming, deciduous to semi-evergreen perennial that is easy to grow, though short-lived. The foliage is fragrant and attracts butterflies. Plant in an open, sunny border, or in a container. Great paired with hot colours, other silvery plants, deep blues or with grasses. Leave the attractive seedheads on until shortly before the new growth begins.
Popular as a cut flower, fresh or dried.
A recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.
