Anemone x hybrida Honorine Jobert is one of the most striking of autumn plants, especially for a partly shaded border. This hardy Japanese anemone produces masses of large round, pure white single flowers, with yellow stamens, on tall, wiry stems over a long period, all the way from late summer well into autumn.
Honorine Jobert looks great at the back of a herbaceous border. It tolerates full sun but thrives in partial shade – the flowers absolutely shine in dappled or shady areas, so plant against a dark green backdrop, such as a yew hedge, to maximise the effect and add to your enjoyment. It is also suitable for growing in a large patio pot. As a herbaceous perennial, it tends to die down over the winter, although the dark green, divided foliage is semi-evergreen. New plants will pop up from the spreading roots.
