Iris Langport Wren is one of the best of the medium-sized bearded irises. The pretty blooms, held on erect stems in May and early June, are of the palest violet with reddish-brown blotches on the falls. The scent attracts bees and butterflies. Perfect for a sunny border.
It is a rhizotomous, herbaceous perennial that can form large clumps of sword-shaped, blue-green leaves. Irises are a traditional garden favourite, both good looking and reliable performers. They also make excellent cut flowers.
