Everyone is taking a shine to this new, pure white Lychnis. Beautiful, shaggy, double flowers are held high on long straight stems. More compact than other varieties, the bushy, bright green foliage stays neat and the flower stems slightly shorter than the pink L. Petite Jenny.
Its rain-resistant flowers are borne continuously from late spring until the first frosts. The flowers don’t drop petals at all; nor do they brown as they age, a problem with many white-flowered plants. Not only loved by butterflies, but also good for cutting for the house.
Very few plants are as 'airy' as Lychnis, and this variety is easy to care for, and also virus and pathogen free. Lychnis is an upright deciduous perennial with branched stems bearing opposite, lance-shaped leaves and terminal clusters of star-shaped flowers, each petal deeply cut into four narrow segments.
