A tall, elegant hardy perennial with silver-green stems and jade-green, bell-like flowers, reminiscent of hellebores or angelica. These fabulous flowers gradually turn pink and last well into autumn. Mathiasella bupleuroides Green Dream makes a great structural addition to the border.

Originating from Mexico, it is named after the Californian plantswoman Mildred Mathias, who discovered it in 1954.

The blooms are a magnet for bees, and are also excellent as cut flowers, fresh or dried.
