The branching stems of Salvia patens Beyond Blue produce the purest of blue, open mouthed flowers. Dotted along the tall, elegant stems are blooms as blue as the midsummer sky, interchanged with bushy triangular leaves. Such rich colouring, alongside their aromatic foliage, justifies their place in a sunny, protected border, or carefully positioned along a warm terrace.
This drought resistant perennial is highly attractive to bees, making it an excellent pollinator. You could use them for a colourful ground cover option within a midsummer border.
