Despite being a compact plant, this produces the largest flowers of all the perennial sages. The abundant upright bright blue flower spikes soar above a bushy clump of grey-green foliage. The flowers are attractive to butterflies and excellent for cutting.
These reasonably drought tolerant plants prefer a sunny spot, and are invaluable for their richly coloured display in the border. You could use them for a colourful ground cover option, as they are so petite.
