Mentha suaveolens (Apple Mint) is a taller, upright mint with a subtle minty taste and larger than usual leavves. It is particularly lovely for making applemint jelly or for garnishing Pimms and other cocktails or mocktails. It is also known as pineapple mint, woolly mint or round-leafed mint.

This fast-growing, hardy perennial herb likes any moist, humus-rich soil, in sun or partial shade, but will grow in any reasonable soil in most positions. As it is vigorous, and has spreading underground shoots, this mint may need containing, so it is best planted in a pot on paving.
