Broad-leaved thyme is a low growing, strong tasting variety of this aromatic herb garden staple, with green leaves. Bees are attracted to the pink flowers. It loves a sunny position and well-drained soil.
An old favourite for stews, stuffings, and in mixed herbs and bouquet garni, thyme stimulates the appetite and helps the digestion of fatty foods, such as meat - use to enhance barbecue food and cream cheese. It is a helpful companion plant, as it is a great deterrent of cabbage root-fly or cabbage worm; grow thyme close to cabbages, cauliflower, broccoli and brussels sprouts.
Eco-friendly: This herb plant is grown in peat free compost in a biodegradable pot made from waste coir with natural latex.
