Lavandula angustifolia Melissa Lilac, like all English lavenders, thrives in the British climate if planted in full sun. Perfect as a clipped hedge, at the front of herbaceous borders or in a container, this variety has particularly attractive lilac flowers that attract pollinators and can be cut for arrangements or drying. But the perfect joy of this evergreen perennial shrub is the scent: evocative, heady and unfortunately impossible to photograph.
