Lavandula angustifolia Melissa Lilac (formerly L. officinalis Melissa Lilac) has impressive, enchantingly lilac-coloured, fragrant flower spikes held high above slender, aromatic, silvery-grey leaves. This popular evergreen lavender is a particularly lovely for edging paths and borders, perfuming the air as you walk past. Easy to grow – use in a gravel garden, or clip into a low hedge or, for a contemporary look, a formal sphere. The flower spikes are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
