The strikingly lovely English shrub rose from David Austin, Rosa Lady of Shalott (Ausnyson), has chalice-shaped blooms. In shades of apricot and rich, caramel yellow, they emit a slight fragrance of tea with a hint of spiced apple. It is an English Leander Hybrid and a superb repeat flowerer with vigorous, bushy growth.
Healthy, with good disease resistance, and happy in even poor soil, the Lady of Shalott rose is one of David Austin's hardiest and most reliable roses, and so is the perfect first rose for inexperienced gardeners.
A recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.
