Features

notes

Rosa Wildeve (Ausbonny) is a wonderfully bushy shrub rose from David Austin with large blooms held on arching branches. The petals, which open a soft blush pink, maturing with an apricot-coloured tint, are distinctly arranged into quarters and offer a light, fruity fragrance.

Please note, our roses are available to purchase all year round, so depending on the time of year your rose may either arrive in bloom or have been pruned or deadheaded appropriately for the season.

Insights

The rose is named after Thomas Hardy’s character Damon Wildeve, who features in the 1878 novel The Return of the Native. The novel follows the intertwined lives of a group of characters, including Wildeve and his former charismatic lover, Eustacia Vye, (another superb David Austin Rose, Rosa Eustacia Vye).
