Bred by David Austen in 2008, Rosa Wisley® (Ausbreeze) has proved to be an extremely vigorous shrub which is strong enough to create a sturdy hedge and helpfully tolerates shade. Attractive rose buds are produced along the length of the elegantly arching branches and open into shallow rosettes of soft pink petals which pale towards the outer edges. A musk hybrid, the roses give off a light, fruity scent.

Within reach of its original base in Chiswick, since the turn of the 20th century, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has been based in the Surrey countryside to the south west of London. Now on an expanded, 60-acre site, Wisley is synonymous with horticultural research and education as well as being famous for the beauty of its ornamental gardens which are open to visitors.
