A French rose with glorious repeating blooms and a beautiful name, Rosa Zéphirine Drouhin is a climbing Bourbon rose of the rambler type with semidouble flowers in cherry red and cerise, marked with faint white stripes. They have a very strong, sweet scent. It has virtually thornless stems, semiglossy midgreen leaves, and flowers freely over a long period.

Train it up a secure trellis on a sunny wall, although it tolerates a degree of shade, or as a towering hedge; it can be grown as a shrub if given some support.

Pot size: 5.5L

Pot Size: 6L

Common Names: Rose Charles Bonnet, Thornless Rose

Height and Spread: 300cm x 200cm

Hardiness: Hardy, but protect from frost

Preferred Soil Type: Any moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil

Position: Full sun / partial shade

Flowering Period: April – October

Care: Remove faded flowers; prune in winter if necessary, once established

Please note, in the autumn this rose is supplied as a potted plant, and will not produce any new roots until spring, so it is usual for the soil to fall away from the roots when you remove it from the pot. It is best to plant it immediately.
