A brand new David Austin rose launched at Cheslea in 2016, Rosa Bathsheba® (Auschimbley) is a repeat-flowering English Leander hybrid climbing rose. With long, elegant, apricot-yellow buds that open to the classic rose shape of shallow-cupped rosettes, the flowers are a beautiful blend of colours, with the upper side of the petals being a subtle shade of apricot-pink and the reverse a lovely soft yellow. The rounded myrrh fragrance of this vigorous climbing rose has hints of honey and, as the flowers age, the fragrance develops an element of tea.

The Bathsheba rose has been inspired by the spirited heroine of Thomas Hardy’s Far from the Madding Crowd.
