Fulfilling the promise of its name, this compact deciduous Japanese Quince produces many clusters of gold cup-shaped flowers on bare stems in the spring that turn vibrant red later, with golden anthers. These are followed by green fruit ripening to a scented yellow in the autumn. The glossy narrow oval leaves are held on spiny branches. This hardy shrub, which needs little maintenance, adds stunning colour to a spring garden plus autumn interest with the lovely fragrant fruit. Ideal for the smaller garden.
