Rosmarinus officianalis, commonly known as rosemary, is a woody, perennial herb with fragrant, evergreen, needle-like leaves and white, pink, purple or blue flowers, which will bloom on and off throughout the summer. Native to the Mediterranean region, it relishes the sun and poor, well-drained soil. It is extremely popular used as a low hedging plant or in parterrres.

Extremely versatile, the leaves are delicious sprinkled in stews and over trays of roasted meats, traditionally lamb, and vegetables, or chopped into thick pasta sauces.

The flowers are also highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

Pot Size: 5L

Flowering period, repeat: June to September / Fully hardy

All soil types- prefers well-drained, poor soil / South, East or West facing / Full sun

Plant in spring or autumn. Prune annually after flowering to prevent the plant from getting woody. Strip leaves from inedible woody stems to use in cooking.

Aromatic - ideal to plant along the side of path so scent is released as brushed past. In cooking, the scent of fresh rosemary is strong so it can overpower delicate flavours.
