This violet blue Campanula is a wonderful variation on a much-loved cottage garden theme. The crisp, bell-shaped flowers (5cm across) are attractively outward facing from the stem, encouraging full benefit of the striking colour.
The dark green leaves grow on strong stems in a compact form from a round base. As they grow, the length of these stems are punctuated with the flower buds that continue to bloom even as other flower heads die off. More compact in habit than other Campanulas, they are less prone to damage in windy borders.
Undemanding and easy to grow. C. Takion Blue can be planted in groups for greater impact in a larger border; singly they are ideal for a small garden and thrive in well-watered containers.
