Crocosmia Lucifer is a dramatic variety of montbretia producing masses of magnificent, rich red, freesia-like blooms, held in a line on tall, arching stems in late summer and autumn. Ideal as part of a 'hot' garden planting scheme, for brightening up a summer border or as a cut flower. An excellent choice for sunny, well-drained sites and ideally situated where it can overhang a lawn or path. It also makes an interesting focal point plant, and is a useful plant on a bank or slope.

This lovely late flowering corm will divide and slowly form a large, decorative clump of bright-green sword-like leaves. A herbaceous bulbous perennial that disappears in the winter and reappears every spring. The blooms last for up to 8 weeks, and are good in flower arrangements, and are also attractive to butterflies and the tapering seedpods to birds.

A recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.
