A bushy evergreen that is easy to grow as long as it is in a sunny spot and produces a profusion of erect mauve, four-petalled flowers above narrow, dark grey-green foliage. Ideal for filling gaps in the border, it looks particularly good paired with yellow. It is a perennial, but tends to be short lived.
A recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden. This plant was shortlisted for the Chelsea Plant of the Centenary for the decade 1973–1982.
