Utterly charming panicles of purple buds, opening into a mass of tiny, deep pink flowers, cover Syringa meyeri 'Palibinia' in early summer. A compact form of lilac, also known as Korean Lilac, this deciduous shrub retains all the beauty, as well as the heady scent of the original, without the invasive bad manners. For this reason it is perfect for a smaller, or courtyard garden and will happily thrive in a large container given appropriate sunshine, food and water.
