Featuring glossy, spiky green foliage and erect racemes of yellow flowers in winter through to spring, Mahonia x media 'Winter Sun' is a great choice for a feature plnt in a shady spot. The flowers give out a delicious honey scent, and are a valuable source of nectar for winter-active pollinating insects. They are followed by bunches of ornamental blue-black berries.
