Pinus parviflora Templehof is a fast-growing, upright conifer, also known as Japanese White Pine. Its long, elegant needles have a cool, chalky cast – glaucous in appearance – that is particularly attractive in a winter garden.
Conifers are currently undergoing a renaissance and this Japanese White Pine is an excellent specimen since it is undemanding and needs no pruning. Hardy and tolerant, it is also fast growing, so should be positioned beautifully to draw the eye in a larger garden.
