Small, charming, sumptuous photograph albums to fill with beautiful images, make for the perfect gift. They can be left blank or made up to commemorate a special visit or occasion, elegantly holding moments caught in time, a smile, a wink, a time and place.
Before our busy and digitalised world, dull, dusty, scrapbooks and photo albums were found lining the shelves of every household, regularly recording births, birthdays, anniversaries, travel, graduations and all the twists and turns of life. Today there may be only one or a few, gracing a desk or coffee table so really, you want it to be top notch.
As part of Burford Garden Company's exclusive range of stationery products designed by British artist and textile designer Cressida Bell, it was important to include the highest quality of photograph album. And here it is!
Beautiful hard bound cover designs in 1930s yet thoroughly modern colour palettes of teal blues, eau de nil greens, ruddy reds, and ochre yellows. The designs by Cressida Bell are elegantly quirky and perfectly suited for a traditional or contemporary setting. The hand-drawn patterns are partially influenced by Bell's celebrated Bloomsbury Group heritage (Quentin Bell was her father and Vanessa Bell, the painter who made her home at Charleston, her grandmother). Inside there are 30 sheets of heavy cream linen paper, each topped with a thin, transparent rice paper to keep images clean and fresh. Paper corners are the traditional way of tipping in photographs.
Crafted in England at a rural workshop, these large photograph albums are edged in complementary colours and perfect-bound so that they lie flat when opened.
