Æcorn Bitter is one of an exciting new range of non-alcoholic aperitifs from the new sister company of Seedlip, the pioneers of alcohol-free distilled botanicals.
The name Æcorn is inspired by the humble acorn, such an iconic image of the British countryside. Fascinatingly, acorns were used as an appetite stimulant in the Middle Ages and later featured in John French’s 1651 The Art of Distillation, which makes it an appropriate name for Seedlip's new range of aperitifs.
Æcorn Bitter is a complex aperitif – bitter and citrusy – best served over ice with sparkling water or tonic water and a slice of orange. It is made from an early pressing of English grown Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier grapes, carefully blended with a stimulating mixture of herbs and bitter botanicals. The pleasing result is a sophisticated drink with exciting citrus flavours of grapefuit and orange, accenuated by notes of quassia (bitter ash), honeycomb and oak.
