Poonam is the Hindu or Sanskrit name for a female child meaning full moon. Here it has been applied to a new pattern, inspired by ancient floral decorative traditions that have been used in textiles for centuries. The repetition of small sprigs of flowers here would have been as familiar to Jane Austen as to William Morris. Its popularity over the years relates to its unquestionable prettiness, it appears as small, stylised carnations in pink and sage green, repeat printed in regular diagonals, covering a cream background – apparently simple but effective. Silky corner tassels add the finishing touch.
We think this Poonam Masala Cushion is ideal for softening a sofa or bench, or for scattering around a bedroom.
