The Copenhagen pots are simply beautiful. Also called 'Slot' pots, named after Fredensborg Castle or 'slot' where they were first made in 1860, the design was rediscovered on a pot hiding away in a nursery. Crafted by potters near Lucca in Tuscany, we're delighted to stock these quality clay plant pots here at Burford.
If plants could speak, they would ask for clay pots. The superlative quality of the clay in these pots allows air to filter through to the plant's roots so they can breathe, and enables them to retain moisture, thus giving plants optimum growth conditions.
In stylish, on-trend grey and featuring a distinctive lip and decorated rim, each pot has been fired at a high temperature, giving it a natural strength and durability. The high density of the clay also makes the pots frost resistant without glazing.
We like to plant the larger Copenhagen Pots with hostas, which lend a simple yet contemporary look.
These pots are supplied as a set of three. Select the size you require.
Notes: Drainage holes in the base allow for outdoor use; for indoor use, pair with the relevant size of waterproof Copenhagen Grey Saucers (we do still recommend you protect the surfaces beneath any pot). This is a handmade item so dimensions and colours may vary.
