For a lush, exotic look, the Kentia Palm is a popular choice. This lovely feathery palm is native to Lord Howe Island in Australia. It is easy to grow, and grows slowly. Usefully, it is tolerant of lower temperatures and does not need a great amount of light for growth, so might suit a hallway.

Indoor palms are great for removing toxins from the air. They also help to increase humidity, which helps those with sinus issues.
