We are delighted to have secured additional limited stock of this rare philodendron, for purchase in store only.
This striking pink philodendron rarely occurs in nature and is difficult to find, as a result it is a sought-after plant for collectors. Despite being so rare, it is a wonderfully undemanding indoor plant that tolerates limited light.
Not just unusual, Philodendron Pink Princess is beautiful. Growing from dark red stems, superbly shiny leaves take the form of an elongated heart. The young leaves are an attractive olive green which matures into the deepest, darkest green with the dramatic splashes of bright pink that make it so desirable.
Philodendrons are indigenous to the rainforests of South America where they decoratively twine themselves through the lower trees (the name philodendron means love of trees). To retain its bushy form – and depth of colouration – prune back twice a year, alternatively give it a mossy pole, up which it will slowly climb like a vine.
Care: Keep soil moist but not too wet, no not allow to dry out. Avoid bright sunlight and protect from temperatures below 15 degrees. Apply a light fertilizer every fortnight in the summer. Repot every few years. Prefers humidity so regularly mist leaves.
