These marbled bowls are a contemporary twist on classic enamelware. Each piece is individually handmade by master artisans in Istanbul.
Made by fusing glass onto heavy-gauge steel, they are machine mulled or hand-formed, glazed and then fired at high temperature in a traditional kiln. Depending on where the bowl is placed in the kiln, the position impacts its colour intensity. The traditional marbling technique - a combination of the artisan's hand and chance - emerged in Anatolia and dates back to the 15th century.
In three fresh and exciting colours to choose from, you can create a great summer table setting indoors or venture out and use the odd piece as picnicware. They're versatile enough to mix and match too.
The larger bowls are good to hold cereal, soup, pastas, or desserts, and the smaller ones are perfect for snacks.
If looked after, this timeless classic enamelware can last a lifetime.
