Part of our new ‘Toasted Stoneware’ range, these Pancheon Bowls have been designed by us as part of our ongoing collaboration series with artisan crafters, potters, and makers local to the Cotswolds. Beautifully hand thrown, the rustic, earthy designs celebrate the excellence of handmade pieces.
A Pancheon bowl is a large, flared bowl the design roots of which are deeply buried in traditional rural pottery where it was used for separating cream or making bread.
The distinctive, variegated colouring comes from the naturally occurring high iron content contained in the clay, creating the delicately speckled aesthetic. Having been fired at 1300°C, this process enhances the variegated look and generates a luscious glaze. The thick, earthy craft of the bowl suggests years of happy use in the kitchen as a reliable mixing bowl.
Note: Due to the handmade nature of this product, designs and dimensions may slightly vary, making each one unique.
