‘I have developed an organic approach to composition and narrative which has recently fed into my paintings’ – Alex Brown, 2019
Born in Manchester, Alex Brown studied for his Fine Art Foundation there and later gained his degree at Camberwell School of Art, London in the 1980s, since when he has been a professional painter. He has works in public and private collections throughout the UK and worldwide, including London Transport Museum, Art for Hospitals, St. James’ Estate Trust and Glaxo SmithKline. In 2018, the John Moores University acquired five of Alex’s paintings to be permanently housed in their Thomas Aquinas building.
Throughout his art career, Alex's enduring fascination has been painting from life, with colour relationship and abstraction. He uses a variety of mediums and techniques, including brushes and palette knives.
In 2018, Alex founded Lemon Studios Arts School Ltd, after a successful career of teaching in Wales, England and France.
