A creature of fascination, mythology and folklore, hares were first introduced to Britain by the Romans, and remain a marvellous site on the landscape - whether running at lightspeed, loping, or caught in a pensive moment. Hand sculpted, moulded in clay and cast in bronze resin with a Verdigris finish, this marvellous open edition hare sculpture is by professional sculptor Christine Baxter

Christine studied under the tutorage of respected bronze sculptor, craftsman and artist, the late Mike Gillespie, before graduating from the Camberwell School of Arts in the 1980s. Gillespie, largely remembered for his powerful abstract and figurative work, assisted 20th century bronze cast sculptors Jacob Epstein and Elizabeth Frink.

Christine is from a long line of artists, designers and craftsmen. Her work centres around figurative pieces, and she is inspired by the differing emotions they awake in the viewer.
