Christopher Townsend's decorative table sculpture features a pair of sinuous figures. The female figure is separate, and can be balanced atop the uppermost nail giving the effect of her spinning on a fingertip, with her hair tumbling down! Made from steel horseshoe nails, it stands on a small, cylindrical plinth of mild steel, stamped with a heart.
Gaining his degree in Fine Art and Psychology in 1996, Christopher Townsend is based in a studio in Ascott-under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire. Influenced by the agricultural landscape and the sea, and his studies of moving figures, his sculptural work is created using metal, stone and wood.
