In loose brushstrokes, Eleanor has created – Little Rabbit – which depicts a world at once indistinct and undefined in a swirling sea of white, tinted with eau de nil, sage green, turquoise and rosy pink. Part of this calm, semi-abstract scene is a domestic interior, backlit and with a large table, on which a distinctly painted vase holds delicate foliage and a flower that bursts with burgundy colour. Different floral patterns weave around the table, while what appears to be a small rabbit in a coat sits still.
Eleanor is based in Oxfordshire, she graduated in 1998 from Manchester Metropolitan University, where she studied Illustration with Animation. She then worked for a decade in London as a professional free-lance illustrator, her clients including Unilever, Waitrose, Radio Times, and The Telegraph. Her illustration has been exhibited at Images 30 and Images 31-A01, The Best of Contemporary Illustration and the 2005 Artist and Illustrators Exhibition. In 2011 Eleanor and her husband moved to the Oxfordshire village where she grew up. She now takes pleasure in watching her children having the same carefree upbringing she enjoyed. Focusing now on her own paintings, she works from her studio and regularly exhibits to a growing following.
