Jasmine officinalis, also just Common Jasmine, is the most rewarding of climbers. It needs little attention (a slight chop after flowering), but in high summer, the slim entwining stems, covered with delicately shaped leaves, produce a mass of starry flowers. Ravishing to look at, at dusk these flowers emit an unforgettably heady scent.
Planting a jasmine also helps native pollinators and once established, it is drought resistant.
