Michel's sculpture, 'Hares on Fire', oozes with mischief. Two hares are deeply engaged in a boxing match; one has leapt to impressive heights, ready to combat with its sprightly hind legs, as the other stands and confidently fights back with ease. Each body outstretched, the hare's long limbs are comparable to that of a ballerina executing a majestic pose mid-air, awaiting just as graceful a landing (or tumble!).

Insights
Entirely self taught, Michels uses the natural world around her and her intrigue for extinct species as her sources of inspiration. Predominantly working in a range of steel for its strength and resilience, it is of utmost importance to Michels to mould pieces which portray the freedom of movement so typical in her work.
Artist
Working from her hill farm in Radnorshire, Michels has achieved much success in her career through innumerable commissions from the private collections of well-regarded members of the TV and film community to hotels. Additionally, the artist regularly exhibits in the Cotswolds and Sussex, and has exported several large works abroad, including Europe, USA, and Canada.
