Features

notes

An elegant English climbing rose from David Austin, Rosa Gertrude Jekyll® (Ausbord) is one of the first English roses to start flowering and has large, bright, deep pink rosette-shaped flowers, which open from tightly scrolled pink buds, and produces an exceptionally beautiful, strong Old Rose fragrance.

Please note, our roses are available to purchase all year round, so depending on the time of year your rose may either arrive in bloom or have been pruned or deadheaded appropriately for the season.

Insights

This rose is a tribute to the mid-19th century garden designer who famously worked alongside the architect Edwin Lutyens. Jekyll was the first to incorporate roses into mixed borders and whose painterly use of colour and texture enlivened the herbaceous schemes of generations of gardeners and popularised the cottage garden. Recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden
