notes
Add artistic colour to the kitchen garden with some (Phaseolus vulgaris) Borlotto Tintoretto French dwarf beans. A half-hardy annual, this is a very productive variety, the 16cm (6in) pods are a mottled dark red and cream colour, with fat, creamy, spotty beans inside. Tintoretto copes well with unfavourable weather and will happily thrive when grown in a container.
Insights

Once cooked, these beans have a wonderful creamy texture and are valued as a homegrown crop as fresh borlotti beans are hard to find, given that they harden after 7 days. If you wish to keep for future use, allow beans to dry on the plant and then pod and keep in an airtight container.
